Inspiration Day
zondag 20 september 2026 · 12:00 - 18:00
Studio Woudt · Hazenkoog 9, 1822 BS Alkmaar
For the first time, Studio Woudt opens the working studio to the public. We are calling it Inspiration Day. This is not a day about buying. You are welcome to learn, to look, to ask questions, or simply to be in the room, whether you are a photographer, a fellow creative, a collector, or someone who loves photography. Programme 12:00 — Doors open. Walk through the exhibition and the working studio at your own pace. Books and the archive sale are available throughout the day, and Bastiaan will be signing books in person. 15:00 — Mini masterclass with Bastiaan Woudt and guest speaker Martijn van Pieterson, on how he approaches his practice. Martijn van Pieterson founded IBASHO gallery in Antwerp in 2015, together with Annemarie Zethof. IBASHO shows fine art Japanese photography, from established Japanese names to younger contemporary artists, alongside Western photographers whose work is shaped by Japan. Ibasho is Japanese for a place where you can be yourself. In 2024 the two opened a second space on the Waalsekaai, IN-DEPENDANCE, for photography and visual art where materiality and craftsmanship come first. He will talk about both galleries and about Japan: why the focus is there, and what he finds when he goes. From 17:00 — Drinks to close the afternoon together. 18:00 — Close. The day also marks the finissage of Henro, your last chance to see the series on the walls. The archive sale features prints and work that are normally not for sale, available for this day only and at accessible prices. Once a piece is gone, it is gone. Spaces are limited. Register below to secure your spot.
